The Hipness of Hermosa: a look into the historical significance and impact of The Lighthouse in relation to the Global Jazz Scene. Join the Hermosa Beach Historical Society AT THE LIGHTHOUSE CAFE on Monday February 28th at 6:00PM for a presentation on the historical significance and impact of the Lighthouse Cafe with Jacques Lesure. We are very excited to be able to support The Lighthouse Cafe! Here is an outline for the evening: 6:00-6:30 PM: Arrival- grab your drinks, some food, and find a seat! 6:30 PM: Lecture with Jacques Lesure followed by Jazz music! ABOUT JACQUES LESURE: Jacques is a Detroit, Michigan native, and current resident of Inglewood, California. He is an accomplished musician who had played for artists such as Bernadette Peters, Pharoh Sanders, Gregory Porter, Jimmy Smith, Carmen Lundy, The Clark Sisters, Little Milton, James Brown, and appeared in the Oscar winning film La La Land. Jacques is also an active member of his community, and serves as a Commissioner on the Arts Commission in Inglewood, is a member of "100 Black Men" Los Angeles Chapter, and is a member and former President of the African American Jazz Caucus.
