A celebration for new partners of The Austin Stone! Hi! We as a Family at the Austin Stone are so grateful that you have walked through the process of formally joining our Family! I know that not all of you have officially been confirmed as Partners or may be in different stages of the process, but Lord-Willing we’ll have the joy of officially welcoming you into our Church Family soon! All throughout the New Testament, particularly in the book of Acts, we see that God unites His people together in local churches in order to disciple them, to glorify Him, and to seek the expansion of His Kingdom here on earth. In other words, the Church is God’s Plan A for your discipleship and for the glory of Jesus here and among the nations! All this being said - we have big prayers and hopes for you, and we want to spend some time welcoming you into our Family and praying you into ministry alongside our Family. Ephesians 4:15–16 says this - Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. God has given you ministry to do and our Family needs every single one of our Partners to grow so that it builds itself up in love! As a Partner, ’re an indispensable part of our Family and your partnership with the Austin Stone has significant meaning. We want to help celebrate this incredible reality and help cast vision for your possible next steps within our local body. So, as a Church Family and College Ministry specifically, we are inviting you to our first ever New Partner Celebration! This gathering will be at the For the City Center at 6:30-7:30 PM on February 20, 2022. All of our new partners will gather with our college deacons and some of our college leaders as we cast vision for the evening.We will eat together and call you towards what following Jesus with our Family will look like for you. Please RSVP so that we can know who all will be there.Finally, we’ll prayerfully commission you to the work of ministry. After we conclude our gathering, there will be an optional Racial Justice Panel in the Auditorium at 7:30 PM which all of our college MC leaders will be attending. We invite you to stick around for this and hear from leaders in our church as they discuss how we can understand and engage with the topic of race as a disciple of Jesus.
