We purchased a Shihtzu puppy from what I now know is a puppy mill, back yard breeder. She would not allow us to come see the puppies at her house, but instead we had to meet on Berryessa Rd west of 680 In San Jose. She was asking $1350.00 for her pups (with no paperwork) and she drives a newer Blue Honda Odyssey. We took Lucy home and gave her lots of love. We noticed she would have episodes when she would shake her head and then fall right away. I called the “Breeder” and she never returned any of my calls or texts. We took her to the vet 4x with vet bills costing us $1500. The Vet said she had a VERY serious heart condition and we were absolutely devastated. She started having a hard time breathing and ultimately had to put her asleep. We were Sad, angry, and most of all heart broken. The vet also told us she was only 5-6 weeks old from his examination at the the time we got her. She has made no effort to reach out to me and has ignored all of my efforts to reach her. I went to the vet that she took the pups to and they said there was no check up done on any of the puppies, just the basic vaccine. I am doing everything I can to prevent her from doing this to someone else. I know she will continue to breed these dogs. She told me so when we bought Lucy.
