Originating back to Asia thousands of years ago, kombucha is now a trendy drink consumed by many for its supposed health benefits. This tangy fermented drink is brewed commercially by many companies and safely homebrewed by many, too. During this workshop, you'll learn some history of kombucha, how to homebrew your own kombucha, rules and tips, and go home with some starter liquid and your very own SCOBY. Bring a friend to sip some kombucha while learning how to brew your own! This workshop will be facilitated by Christina Threloff, owner and sewist behind My Lovely Muse. She has been brewing her own kombucha at home for 10 years. ***Please bring a mason jar (canning/ball jar) to take your SCOBY home. At least a quart size, though a half gallon is best. I will have some extra, if you don't have a glass jar available at home*** *Masks are required to attend in person workshops.* Live in harmony with our Earth by exchanging disposable housewares and fast fashion for more sustainable alternatives. My name is Christina and I am the owner and sewist behind My Lovely Muse. I am a mom, wife, and former special education teacher who loves Star Wars, Real Simple magazine, and canning homegrown food. I’m on a mission to save the planet from fast fashion and other needless waste by handcrafting custom, sustainable garments and quirky, convenient eco-conscious housewares to help prevent the unintentional contribution of waste to our landfills. I have a passion for education and have enjoyed helping others keep their clothing out of landfills by mending what they have to extend the lifespan of their favorite pieces.
