NAUGATUCK, CT — A truck driving school is being proposed for Naugatuck by Teamsters Local Union 677, My Citizens News reported.
The school would sit on a portion of the former Risdon property on the corner of Rubber and Andrew avenues. The property, which is a total of 12 acres, is owned by the borough, but the school would only take up about an acre.
Under the proposal, the site would have a portable classroom and two trucks, with only one running at a time. Classes would hold eight people.
Salary for trucking jobs start at about $26 to $30 per hour and offer benefits, according to the Teamsters.
