ELMHURST, IL — Elmhurst saw a big decrease in its coronavirus caseload in the last week, according to the DuPage County Health Department. As of Sunday, the city had seen 9,210 cases since the beginning of the pandemic, up 74 from a week before. That's far lower than the previous week's 210. The city hit a weekly record of 599 in January. The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Elmhurst increased by six in the last week, to 90. The mortality rate among those locally with the coronavirus is 0.9 percent.
