Description
My resume: I’m 64, and have played drums for 40+ years. In the 80’s and 90’s I played in local bands in and around Boston. Since 2013, I play drums in Church for Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA as well as Grace’s other campuses as a Christian Worship Drummer. I have a deep love for music of all types and drumming.
My goal is to teach beginner drummers the basic fundamentals to get them playing on a drum set and to build their confidence. Subjects include: proper kit set-ups (ergonomics), drum tuning, stick grips, basic rudiments, beat development, and learning how to play along to some of their favorite songs/music. My ultimate goal is to get them comfortable playing drums with a band, to inspire them to continue learning, and to hopefully set them on a life-long journey of developing their playing skills.
• Drum lessons for beginners are $30 per each one-hour lesson.
• The lessons will take place in your home. I think it's important the Student initially learn on their own gear. I believe it's a more comfortable environment and hopefully it inspires them to play more.
• In-home lessons for Students under the age of 18 must have a Parent or Guardian at home for the entire time I’m there.
We can discuss weekly or bi-weekly lessons based on your budget and schedule.
Requirements: Students must have their own drum practice pad, a metronome or metronome app, a pair of sticks, a drum throne (seat) and any sized Electronic or Acoustic drum set complete with a hi-hat and cymbal(s).
