WHITE PLAINS, NY — Saying that they couldn't wait any longer for guidance, White Plains school officials announced Wednesday they would offer students a fully remote program for the fall semester. "Our parents/guardians asked and we are delivering," said White Plains Superintendent Joseph Ricca. School officials decided to offer a fully Remote Learning option based on Gov. Andrew Cuomo's remarks Friday at a news briefing, during which he said, "How each district decides to reopen is up to its own discretion, whether it's in-person or a hybrid plan that includes remote learning." Parents in the White Plains school district who would like to choose a fully Remote Learning experience for your child/children in the first marking period must say so in writing by Aug. 25. The letter should go to your child's building principal via email or fax. Here's a link to the email address directory. For information related to the White Plains City School District remote learning plan, you can review Section 4.0 of the draft plan. We cannot keep waiting for guidance - the @wplainsschools will offer a Full Remote option for @wplainsschools families. Our parents/guardians asked and we are delivering. Thank you for your patience. #WPProud https://t.co/iFY5HfseEI— WPCSDSuper (@DrJosephRicca) August 12, 2020 sdfsdf
