Description
***Long story short especially since, yes, we know long ads can be overwhelming and not ideal but if you don’t hear back from us, then that’s because we’ll know you didn’t read this entire ad.*** Hi there! We’re looking for our drummer and bass guitarist, both who are between the ages of 21-30 to have tons of laughs and fun with because, let's face it, we all could use that nowadays! ;) But they also have to be serious about music, likeminded, respectful, responsible, and reliable. That said, we want absolutely no: • Arguments about any beliefs — personal or covid-related. Please be respectful of people's safety and follow guidelines whenever and wherever required. • Bigotry/Prejudice/Bashing our bandmates’ opinions — musical or personal. • Drama/Divas/Egos/”It’s my way or the highway!” • Flakes • Hobbyists • Lazy people who expect themselves to kick back and relax while everyone else has to get projects started for them. That’s not fair. • “Liquid encouragement” {We promise it’s ay-okay with us if you’re drunk and/or high offstage though. Please, just don’t come to us like that.} • Poor communicators who can’t stay on top of emails and messages. We totally get everyone has responsibilities but if you don’t answer our emails and messages, then we can’t start anything with you. Simple as that. Please bring your good ol’ self and the desire to make such sweet music! :) Also, please do: 1. give us any suggestions for studios and jam spaces we can use for rehearsal before we land gigs 2. preferably, like to go wild onstage with stage presence/antics, glitzy outfits, heavy jewelry – all that hella-awesome-sauce stuff ;) 3. also, preferably, live either in D.C. itself or NoVa because it's important to us that you have the solid time and transportation to get to and from the gigs we plan to book throughout D.C. and NoVa. …and please don't: 1. have us call or text you until we get more and more comfortable working together. Email will be the way we communicate for now. 2. reach out to us if you don’t like that we don’t have any audio/video clips and won’t ask you for any either. We want to make our own with you because we don’t care what your experience level is as long as you’re serious about music but want to, once again, have tons of laughs and fun with us. We take music very seriously but swear we aren't as picky about other stuff. Our setlist is this combo of modern/modern-ish pop and soul with ‘50s & ‘60s doo-wop, blues rock, pop rock, soft rock, and rock-n-roll: "Please Mr. Postman" by The Marvelettes (in the cover style of the Beatles, though!), "Night of the Sadist" by Larry & The Blue Notes, "Season of the Witch" by Donovan, "She's Not There" by The Zombies, "The Wind Cries Mary" by Jimi Hendrix, "Under the Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay, "One Call Away" by Charlie Puth, and "Get Lucky" by Daft Punk. Since we are definitely excited and itching to gig with you, we look forward to hearing from you, good fellows! We’d love to get a badass project started with you very soon! :)
