Description
Meet Spuds and Tot. These two girls were rescued from less than ideal circumstances a few weeks ago. Their previous owner was well-meaning but had not provided appropriate husbandry, and they were kept on unsuitable bedding and fed poor quality food with no access to burrowing substrate or a sand bath. Additionally, Spuds was suffering from some very severe nasal dermatitis as a result of stress and irritation. She has been treated with antibiotics and topical ointment and is finally on the mend; hair is starting to grow back on her face.
These girls are about a year old and are a bonded pair. Both are very sweet and calm. Spuds especially is a trooper; she has been excellent for her therapy and actually gets very excited to take her medicine. Both tolerate handling well and will make excellent companions for someone new to gerbils. Please inquire if you are interested in learning more about these little sweeties. You can also check us out on Facebook (Khulan Gerbils). I am a small-scale ethical Mongolian gerbil breeder who is also involved in rescue and rehab.
A reasonable rehoming fee does apply. They can also be sold with their set-up which has everything that they need (wheel, sand bath, hide, water bottle, and a 20-gallon tank) for a fair price. They will only go to an approved home.
