Description
WHITE PA, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help out and help others.
Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need.
Volunteer New York! makes it easy to find ways to help — through donations, supporting nonprofits and even volunteering at home.
Today's opportunity is Donate Devices for Women in Need. The YWCA White Plains and Central Westchester has been serving women who are homeless, have a history of substance abuse and have been in jail to help them reintegrate into the community.
Volunteers are needed to donate their tablets, laptops and hotspots to help the women of the Awakenings Program access the services they need.
Not only will the donations help them attend outpatient treatment groups for mental health, substance abuse and AA/NA meetings, the devices will also contribute to educational and vocational training.
