I have had to make a really heartbreaking decision to rehome my dog. I had to relocate to an apartment and I am not able to give him the exercise and attention he deserves and needs. Dane is an 8 year old Catalonia and a sweet and snuggly boy! He loves going to the dog park and doggy day care. He loves kids, all dogs, cats, and people. He knows basic commands, obeys boundaries (will not go into kitchen), walks well on a leash, and has never shown any form of aggression. He is energetic when you are engaging with him and naps when he is left alone. He has a really goofy and silly personality. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all shots, and heart worm negative. Dane has show signs of separation anxiety and is has been on medication for a little over a year ($20 for a 3 month supply). Dane gets really stressed in a kennel, has chewed blinds if he is unable to see out of them, is afraid of rain/storms, and cannot be confined to a small area - he will push or jump over a gate. When nervous, he will pant, pace, shake, and sometimes scratch at the door if he is not in the room with you (he does not currently sleep in my room because I am a light sleeper and he was keeping me awake - so some nights if he is anxious he will scratch at the door). These behaviors do NOT happen daily and are manageable with his medication and making sure his environment is appropriate. I just want to be upfront so nobody is surprised when they get him home and he shows some nervous/anxiety behaviors. An ideal home for Dane would be to live with someone who has the knowledge and patience to help him with his anxiety. His Pros absolutely outweigh his Cons but I am unable to give him the supports and have the patience and exercise he needs to be happy. I moved into an apartment and I think him not having a yard to roam around in has impacted him negatively. He is such a goofy, sweet, and good boy who would really make a great addition to any home.
