Description
Alcohol & drug abuse are real concerns in our communities. Join us to celebrate RECOVERY & raise AWARENESS for those effected by addiction. Leadership Shawano County Class of 2022 and the Shawano County Drug Treatment Court Alumni Group are joining forces to help bring awareness and support for those living in and working towards Recovery from substances in our local communities in Shawano County, Menominee County and the surrounding areas. Right now in our communities, there are not many Recovery Resources, there are NO Sober Living options, and there is a great deal of STIGMA attached to those living in Recovery. We need to improve on this locally and educate on the impact of how important COMMUNITY SUPPORT is in helping people in their Recovery journeys. By supporting those in their recovery efforts, it helps people on their pathway to long-term recovery, strengthens families, improves work place performance and retention, reduces domestic violence and child abuse situations and encourages a community with reduced crime and drug dependence in order to have a SAFER community for use all. This event is not only for those in Recovery, but is also for those effected by addiction as family member/friends and for those who are wanting to encourage those working towards recovery. Please join us for a day of CELEBRATION and AWARENESS! There will be family-friendly events including children's activities, bounce house, face painting, DJ/music, food truck vendors, guest speakers, a Recovery Resource Fair and an Awareness Walk! There will also be a free meal for children.
