Pun-slangin', community buildin', laughable time! Puns are celebrated , groans are encouraged, & folks compete to be the next champipun! ***A portion of proceeds donated to Solid Ground*** https://www.solid-ground.org/about/ "Solid Ground works to end poverty and undo racism and other oppressions that are root causes of poverty." Pun Intended Punslam is a slam-style pun making competition. In pairs of two, Intenders approach the stage to be given a prompt with seconds to think while we dance and drink, before collaboratively punning. The five audience members who have been selected to be judges score, frequently including hilarious pictures and quips. Next, the Intenders come up one by one and have two minutes each to show off their puns, from a word or phrase they have been given before the show had begun. The judges will judge, with drawings and hilarity continuing on...with home-groan puns to ponder on... In the final round, the top four Intenders go noggin’ to noggin’ before the audience chooses who is top doggin’! Our champion receives bragging rights, cheers (as well as a $40 gift card to Bad Jimmy's!!) ! As we all continue to laugh, and make friends while drinking our beers! Professional punster, counselor, playwright, actor, food critic, conductor of destiny, all around janet of most trades, Forest has entertained audiences for as long as she can remember. Recently, she has discovered that she is a Clown-treprenure, a parodic mix of live comedy and traditional theater. Even more, she has led workshops to help people find their inner-clown. She is a co-founder of FIASCO! a co-op and intentional living community. Born in Madison, WI, she now calls Seattle home.​
