Description

Sacramento has faced a childcare shortage for far too long. Children and childcare providers deserve our best community solutions - now! Children, and those who care for them, are suffering through this pandemic. The pandemic has taken a toll on already limited and costly childcare options, with many providers shuttering the doors since 2020. Economic recovery in Sacramento County depends on the availability of childcare. Join local experts, parents, providers, and elected officials to create change. Now. Parents, especially women, are leaving the workforce in breathtaking numbers to care for children. Providers, if they are able to stay open, are operating on a shoestring. California is experiencing a record budget surplus and additional funds may be available to support local childcare. Sacramento has all the ingredients to solve this problem – NOW – and provide a bright future for our county for generations. Join us as we define the problem for decision-makers and discuss short- and long-term solutions. Please note: While the event will be held in person (masks required), a zoom option will also be available for participants who desire to participate remotely.
