Cheese is one of the main ingredients that fill them up on the inside, and other ingredient options can be added along with cheese. Pupusas are traditionally paired with what is called "curtido" which is predominantly a mixture of fermented cabbage, onion, carrot, and last but not least sauce (not a spicy sauce). Both of these pairings make pupusas even more tastier. Options you can choose from are pork meat and cheese, jalapeño and cheese, beans and cheese or shrimp and cheese.
