Sorting clothing and fulfilling diaper orders for children in need in Chicago Volunteers play a critical role at the Sharehouse by helping sort and inventory donations of baby and toddler essentials for children in need across Chicago. This week we will be packing diaper orders so volunteers will need to be at least 16 years of age in order to support the project. If you have little ones or you are under 16 please see our other volunteer opportunies throughout the month. IMPORTANT COVID UPDATES PLEASE READ: To ensure the safety of all volunteers and our families we require all volunteers wear a mask and gloves while working in our Sharehouse. Gloves will be provided. All volunteer sessions are limited to ensure proper social distancing. Our mission is to ensure every child in Chicago has the essentials they need to thrive in the first five years of life. We do this by collecting new and gently used baby items from those with “extras” to spare and distributing them to families living in poverty through a sustainable network of volunteers, community stakeholders, and social service agencies.
