It's Burgers Blues & Brews Night with JOSE RAMIREZ at The Venue The Venue is pleased to present our monthly Burgers, Blues and Brews event - featuring JOSE RAMIREZ, Saturday, March 19 at 8pm. Doors open 7pm. Every month we feature one of Chicagoland's BIGGEST & BEST Blues acts on stage - PLUS select menu items from Gillerson's Grubbery Food Truck and some incredible cold brews. Doors will open at 8pm. Venue guests can grab some grub from the food truck, have some brews and settle in for an evening of Blues! Advance Admission - Premium Seating - $20 Advance General Admission - $15. +$5 door INDOOR SHOWS: MASKS & VACCINATION REQUIRED FOR ENTRY All patrons will need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA emergency use-authorized vaccine in order to attend a show at The Venue. Proof of vaccination must be shown at the Box Office entrance, along with a photo I.D. to enter the event space. Patrons must be masked at all times, including during the show, except while consuming beverages while seated. Masks must cover the nose and mouth. ABOUT JOSE RAMIREZ Latin America's Rising Blues Star At 33 years old, Jose Ramirez is currently Latin America’s most popular blues star and has played with some of the biggest names in the blues industry. These artists include Buddy Guy, Anson Funderburgh, Janiva Magness, Mark Hummel and Bryan Lee, to name a few. Jose recently signed a contract with world famous blues label Delmark Records in Chicago for the release of his second studio album. This makes him the first-ever Latin-American to ever sign with the renowned record company. Jose was recently nominated for a Blues Music Award 2021 for his debut album “Here I Come.” It was produced by blues guitar legend Anson Funderburgh. The Jose Ramirez Band recently won second place at The Blues Foundation 2020 International Blues Challenge in Memphis. The band performed in the finals at the Orpheum Theater in Memphis after advancing to the quarter and semi-finals against over 230 bands from around the world. In the past couple of years, Jose has traveled the world playing the blues. His two European tours included more than 45 concerts in England, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium. His U.S.A. tour included shows around the Midwest and the South. Highlights included shows at legendary clubs such as Buddy Guy’s Legends, where Buddy Guy himself joined Jose on stage. Jose’s debut album “Here I Come” was recorded in Austin, Texas under the production of blues guitar legend Anson Funderburgh. It was mixed by Grammy Award Winner Stuart Sullivan (Jimmie Vaughan, Willie Nelson, Sublime). Album musicians: Jim Pugh on the keyboards (Robert Cray, Etta James, BB King) Wes Starr on the drums (Mark Hummel, Sam Myers, Delbert McClinton) Nate Rowe on the bass (Redd Volkaert, Emily Gimble) The Texas Horns on the brass section: Kaz Kazanoff, Al Gomez, John Mills (Jimmie Vaughan, Ray Charles, etc.) At The Venue, we book nationally-recognized talent in all genres of music from blues and big band, to rock and world music, and everything in between. Frequently, our opening acts feature regional and local musicians and songwriters. Our listening room seats 200 with no obstructed views, and our outdoor stage area can fit several hundred festival fans. The Venue is operated by the Fox Valley Music Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to music education, promotion and preservation.
