SARAH AND THE SAFE WORD is a six-piece queer cabaret rock band from Atlanta, comprised of Sarah Rose (vocals), Kienan Dietrich (guitar, vocals), Susy Reyes (violin, vocals), Beth Ballinger (keys, vocals), Maddox Reksten (bass, vocals), and Carlos Gonzalez (percussion, vocals). Since forming in 2015, they've kept themselves busy — being personally requested to join the lineup of the 2017 Vans Warped Tour by founder Kevin Lyman, making a cameo appearance on the CW's The Originals (playing a queer werewolf-witch wedding, no less!), gaining "Debut of the Year" praise from Alternative Press, embarking on several national tours around America, and signing to Take This To Heart Records in 2019. "Sarah and the Safe Word exists in two worlds, each a century apart. The first is set behind a haze of cigarette smoke in a speakeasy’s back room, where daring storytelling of swashbucklers and a hot rod-racing demon only complements an already theatrical stage show. The second is the basement world of sweat-soaked punk shows and a collectivist mindset, encouraging free expression, sexual liberation, and community without boundaries." - Take This to Heart Records DOG PARK DISSIDENTS are a queer punk rock duo from New Orleans, LA and Long Island, NY, featuring Zac Xeper (he/they) and Jon Greco (he/him). They bend genres, genders, and decency, blending old-school anarchist punk energy with contemporary pop punk and flamboyant low camp. They are here, queer, doing crimes, and 🐶 am 🐶 puppy 🐶 Record shop by day. Live music venue by night. Raleigh's home for all things music featuring national and locally touring bands, an extensive vinyl record selection and two full bars.
