Description

Saint Aelred Catholic Church To Mark the Beginning of Lent with Ash Wednesday On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, St. Aelred Catholic Church will begin the Lenten season with two Ash Wednesday masses at 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. At each service, ashes will be distributed on the foreheads of all who wish to receive a visible sign of repentance and remembrance of their mortality. “For you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” (Gen. 3:19) The ashes, made from the burning of the palm branches from last year’s Palm Sunday, mark the beginning of the penitential season of Lent which is the 40-days leading up to Easter. Easter will be observed this year on Sunday, April 17. All are welcome at the services to receive ashes and pray.
