Raider needs a new home

Description

Me and my wife have unfortunately come to the conclusion that we need to re-home our 3 year old German Shepherd named Raider as he has shown some reactive aggressive tendencies on several occasions (growling) with our 18 month year old daughter. When I say reactive, the aggression has always come after she attempts to grab or climb onto him. We of course have always discouraged her from playing rough with him but we know we are not able to stop her every time and we realize that we just can’t take the chance of him attacking her, not even once. Our place is also not big enough to just keep them separated all the time. Additionally, Raider does not do well with other animals, at least initially… he even barks like crazy at any animal walking by but he has warmed up to a handful of animals after a while and become friends. He is definitely not the type of dog right now that you want to take to Carmel beach to sing coombia with all the other dogs off their leash. Animals aside, Raider travels well and we have always taken him with us places if he is not in day care. We don’t know how he would do by himself at home. Raider is a neutered with beautiful markings for a German Shepherd, he is an excellent guard dog, is potty trained, very playful, affectionate with people, low maintenance, gentle with his toys (loves to play tug of war), is not destructive of property, healthy and is not food aggressive. We feel he would excel in a house with no young kids and no other pets with perhaps a medium to large backyard for him to run (we live in a town house with a tiny patio backyard that is only big enough for him to go to the bathroom). We have of course looked into getting him trained but we do not have the time, energy or money to do it right. Please know that we got him with the best of intentions and were under the impression that our living situation would be different by now. With that said, we just know this is the right decision for him to be happier and for our family. Please message me if interested or share this with someone that you think may be interested.
