BERKELEY, CA — From Berkeley City Hall to the White House, Tuesday's election is crucial. Voters have marked their ballots for their chosen leaders, on tax measures, and proposals that will shape California for generations to come.
Here in Berkeley there were three tax measures up for a vote: Measures FF, GG, and HH. Five more measures cover everything from the police and fire departments to city council pay.

More than 934,000 people are registered to vote here in Alameda County, according to the latest voter registration numbers from Secretary of State Alex Padilla's office.

Alameda County had a surplus of volunteers for this election. "We had 4,800 people volunteer for the four days; so we have plenty of volunteers," said Tim Dupuis, Alameda County's registrar of voters.
