READING, MA — The Reading Board of Health voted Feb. 10 to rescind the town's mask mandate for indoor spaces, including businesses, houses of worship and public meetings.
Health officials still recommend that people wear N95, KN95 or surgical masks while in indoor public places and public meetings be held remotely, except where in-person meetings are deemed essential. However, these are not requirements.
The mask mandate remains in effect at the Pleasant Street Center, on public transit and in ride-shares and taxis.
The order does not apply to child care establishments, public schools or the Reading Public Library, which are required to follow guidance from other governing bodies.
