paved truck inspection station. It is not open every day. Surprise inspections of trucks and commercial vans can be conducted by the Suffolk County Highway Patrol officers, who are also cross trained in auto mechanical systems.
This service is provided for the public safety including the safety of the commercial drivers. The highway patrol is allowed to stop vehicles and ask them to report to the inspection station within a 5 mile radius.
