Here are the top five stories in Sacramento today: At 3:32 a.m. Saturday, Metro Fire of Sacramento tweeted that crews had been called to a neighborhood in North Highlands where a vehicle had gone into a home and the home caught fire. At 4:09 a.m., Sac Metro Fire reported that the fire had been put out and two patients were taken to hospitals with unknown injuries. The video is astonishing. This car did not just "bump" this house. It made itself at home inside. (ABC10) The Sacramento Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce hosted its 127th Annual Dinner and Business Awards on Friday. Among those being honored, Metro Chamber is giving iconic Sacramento restaurateur Randy Paragary the Mike Ziegler Lifetime Achievement Award in memoriam. For Small Business of the Year, Metro Chamber is honoring Canon Restaurant. Canon, located in East Sacramento, has a Bib Gourmand award, which is given by the Michelin Guide to "good quality, good value restaurants." Other honorees at the event include Kate Renwick-Espinosa, former Police Chief Daniel Hahn, Anna Fontus and Robert Nelsen. (FOX40) A pair of water fountains, one labeled "Colored" and the other "White," found at McClatchy High School, has prompted the Sacramento City Unified School District to investigate. In a statement about the racist graffiti investigation posted to the SCUSD website, the district indicated that the graffiti was removed once it was discovered by school site staff. "We take this incident very seriously. Racism and racist language will not be tolerated in our schools..." SCUSD Superintendent Jorge Aguilar wrote. The school district said it is working with the Sacramento Police Department to investigate. (KCRA3)Sacramento native authors Trinity Haynes and Jordan Kaitapu held their first book signing at A Seat at the Table bookstore located at 9257 Laguna Springs Drive in Elk Grove on Saturday Feb 5 . They created their zine (self-published book), "Stream of Consciousness," following the chaos of 2020. It is a combination of Jordan's poetry, paired with Trinity's photographs and designs. At the event, they gave a presentation on the journey of their project. (Elk Grove Tribune) Authorities have announced an arrest in the killing of a Rancho Cordova woman who went missing in January. Rancho Cordova police said the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office arrested Mikilo Morgan Rawls, 37, for allegedly sexually assaulting and killing 20-year-old Emma Roark. On Friday, Rancho Cordova police said detectives with the sheriff's office arrested Rawls on suspicion of murder, rape and sodomy. "This type of violent crime tears at the fabric of community safety," said Deputy Chief Jim Barnes, of the sheriff's office.
