Here are the top five stories in Providence today: A standoff that occurred early Thursday morning, which resulted in the death of 61-year-old Scott McLean who barricaded himself inside his home on Denison Street and then opened fire on officers, bled over to an incident on Friday afternoon. McLean's 30-year-old son, Joshua MacLean, reportedly pushed WJAR NBC10 reporter Joanna Bouras into a concrete wall, while she was filming outside the Denison Street property. Joshua was arrested and now faces assault charges. (GoLocalProv)Following the assault of a 16-year-old student by a school resource officer at Mount Pleasant High School in Providence earlier this month, 21 organizations sent a collective letter to Rhode Island Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education, AngΓ©lica Infante-Green, demanding justice and the immediate removal of SROs from all schools. (Uprise RI)The Rhode Island National Guard has announced that it has canceled the air show because of a number of "operational challenges."
