Press release from Rockford Public Schools: February 11, 2022 Demolition has begun at the former Stiles Elementary School, 315 LaClede Ave. Bricks are available to the public outside the work zone for anyone interested in a souvenir brick from the school, first come first served.   Stiles closed at the end of the 2010-11 school year along with a handful of other schools to help maximize the district's efficiencies. The Rockford School Board agreed at its Nov. 9 meeting to award demolition work for the former Stiles and Page Park sites to Northern Illinois Service Co. for $329,790.
