Press release from the Benicia Historical Museum: November 7, 2020 Great news – the Benicia Historical Museum will reopen on November 14! In order to best serve the health and safety interests of our visitors and volunteers, we are adhering to the strictest COVID-19 mandates and operating on a limited schedule. The museum will be open from 1PM to 4PM every Saturday. Although the Museum has been closed to the public since March 17, Executive Director Elizabeth d'Huart and the Exhibits Committee volunteers have been hard at (socially distanced) work, continuing the renovation of our permanent exhibits. Stop by and see our new displays of local "Cattle Brands" and "California Native American Baskets", the "Spanish Rapier" display added to the Early California Gallery, and our exhibit on "Matthew Turner" – part of the Railways and Waterways gallery. Installation continues the remainder of Railways and Waterways, which includes "Benicia and the Pony Express", and the Made in Benicia gallery, highlighting Benicia's contributions to California industry. We hope to see you in the Museum soon! This press release was produced by the Benicia Historical Museum. The views expressed here are the author's own.
