Gwinnett Animal Shelter Needs Old Newspapers, Other Donations

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — The Gwinnett Animal Shelter is asking the public's help in what is a win-win situation. The shelter is running low on old newspapers and are asking anybody with extra to donate them. "Your old newspaper helps us care for pets in need," the shelter's Facebook post says. Anybody wishing to drop off newspapers can do so during normal business hours, and they'll be put to good use. They also ask anybody willing to volunteer at the animal shelter. The shelter is also asking people to donate these items if possible: Canned food for kittens, cats, and dogs (pate only; no salmon)Cat carriers: medium size, hard plastic or cardboardLarge orthopedic dog beds (washable)Frontline flea control for dogs and catsCardboard cat scratchersEZ Nabber 16"Dog treatsCat treatsAnd, of course, they always accept money.
