LAWRENCEVILLE, GA—Gwinnett County officials dedicated the renovated voter registrations and elections office in Lawrenceville Tuesday afternoon. The facility has been named in honor of Gwinnett County trailblazer and voter registrations and elections board member Beauty P. Baldwin.
"Baldwin has dedicated her life to her community as a teacher, superintendent, member of the board of voter registrations and elections and more," county officials posted on their Facebook page. "This building honors her commitment to this county."
Baldwin is a longtime educator and respected civic and community leader, according to county officials. She has been a member of the board of voter registrations and elections since 1997, serving terms as chairman and vice chairman. She was honored as a Bicentennial Trailblazer at Gwinnett County's 200th birthday celebration in 2018.
County officials said the newly renovated facility provides improved circulation and defined areas for voter registration, waiting and voting.
