Laborer and builder apprentice
Jobs
Bastrop TX
Description
We’re looking for someone that is interested in learning high performance home building. The way we build is very different than your standard and traditional methods. This job starts out at $15 an hour and has the potential to be much more. I imagine the right candidate to be familiar with using tools yet is early in their career and eager to learn. Someone with more experience would make more at first. But we’d prefer someone with a bit less experience and someone we can train in our way. This job involves many miscellaneous tasks. Everything from shoveling, landscaping, building fences, picking up trash, and most importantly, working on the control layers of homes - something you’ll learn. You’ll be doing much more than what’s listed here. Every day is different. The primary function is to establish the high-performance related tasks, but when those things are caught up, you’re helping with anything and everything to keep projects moving forward. Must have a reliable vehicle. It’s important you can get around to multiple job sites without breakdowns and problems. Must have your own cell phone that stays on. This is how we’ll communicate throughout the day. It’s important that your bill stays paid and the phone stays on. We expect you to answer our calls during the day. Must be able to commit full working days. We’re not looking for someone that has multiple emergencies throughout the week. We can be flexible and plan for days off for appointments and life things, but at the same time, we need to keep the workflow relatively consistent. Must already be familiar and confident with power tools. You do not need to be an expert in building. In fact, we will train you in our ways. In other words, we want to spend our time training you in our way, and not spending our time teaching you how to use tools. Must speak excellent English. We communicate a great deal throughout the day. We must be able to understand each other with ease. Must not get tired and must not need a lot of breaks. Construction can be hard, especially when it gets hot. Some people can’t handle that. We need someone that can. If interested, email me.
