UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — An Upper West Side resident was assaulted and killed during an October robbery in East Harlem, police said on Wednesday. George Pagan, 62-years-old, was hit in the head during a robbery that happened on Oct. 22 at the corner of East 122nd Street and 3rd Avenue, according to police. Pagan died seven days later at the NYC Health + Hospital/Harlem. The Medical Examiner determined that Pagan's head trauma was the cause of the death, and the case was ruled a homicide. Pagan lived on West 87th Street near Amsterdam Avenue. The subsequent police investigation into the incident led to the arrest of two people in November, 17-year-old Anthony Santiago and 27-year-old Benjamin Houston. Both men lived in the area near where the assault took place, according to police. NYPD charged both men with murder, robbery, and assault.
