LAWRENCEVILLE, GA – A Lawrenceville man has been charged with animal cruelty after allegedly throwing kittens out of a moving vehicle. L. Mims, 32, has been charged with two counts of cruelty to animals following a two-month investigation, according to Sandy Springs Police. In early July, Sandy Springs Police responded to Peachtree Dunwoody Road for a report that kittens had been thrown from a moving vehicle. Officer Housand located one kitten who was safe and unharmed. While working the case, the officer decided to adopt the kitten. The kitten has since been named Holly. Everyone, please meet Officer Housand. Last night SSPD responded to PDR @ JFR regarding kittens being thrown from a moving vehicle.
