Description

Press release from the City of Lawrenceville: August 3, 2020 Letter from Mayor David Still It is not an understatement to say COVID-19 has changed the way we operate in almost every aspect of our lives. This is true at the City of Lawrenceville in a number of ways. Our Events Team has shown great innovation, flexibility and determination as we traverse the ever-changing restrictions on public gatherings. In June, we released our full events calendar for the remainder of 2020, including our concert series in anticipation of unveiling our newly renovated Lawrenceville Lawn. Although those renovations are still on target to be complete in September, the ability to safely social distance at our concerts would be extremely tough. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our large events for the remainder of the 2020 events season. However, the City's Events Team has created a series of smaller events offering enjoyable activities in our downtown area, many in partnership with our downtown businesses, to better protect the health of our citizens, staff and volunteers. We have provided specific dates and series information below. Additional details for the series will be announced on social media, lawrencevillega.org/events and downtownlawrencevillega.com. Also look for pop-up live entertainment on the square, artists, and other surprises and unique events offered by our downtown businesses. On behalf of the City Council, I thank you for supporting the City of Lawrenceville and look forward to seeing you at our restructured 2020 events and at future events when we are able to safely return to our regular event schedule.
