Description

Test your gear and endurance! Join us for a hike through Ludington State Park. Join us Saturday, February 20 for a hike at Ludington State Park! We will be skirting the edges of the frozen over Hamlin Lake and visiting the Big Sable Lighthouse on the shore of Lake Michigan. This hike will be near 7 miles round trip with a few steep elevation changes. Trail conditions in winter vary from loose sand and deep snow to glare ice. Be prepared with sturdy winter boots and a form of traction for icy conditions. The weather on the lakeshore this time of year almost always includes very strong winds coming off of the lake, we will be exposed to these winds throughout the hike. Due to the terrain, weather, and spectacular views along the trail, we will very likely take most of the day to complete the trek. Because this event will be occurring during the COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that everyone in attendance follow CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you are sick, or have been exposed to COVID-19, please stay home. Please practice proper social distancing during the event.
