UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The Upper East Side's newest maternity hospital delivered its 1,000th baby on Monday, just over two months after it opened for expectant families. Jessica and Nick Robnett, of Brooklyn, welcomed their new baby boy, Will Robnett, on Monday at the NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns. Will was born at exactly 40 weeks, his arrival marked by signs reading "1,000! Congrats!" the hospital said. NYP Cohen opened Aug. 2, housed on the top six floors of the existing David H. Koch Center on York Avenue near East 69th Street. The 75-room hospital specializes in treating high-risk pregnancies and newborns who need extra care. It includes a 60-bed neonatal intensive care unit and will accommodate more than 7,000 births each year, according to NewYork-Presbyterian. The hospital's construction was funded by a $75 million gift from the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation. The NewYork-Presbyterian Alexandra Cohen Hospital for Women and Newborns opened Aug. 2 at 1283 York Ave. (NewYork-Presbyterian)
