Jesus said to them, “Come away to a deserted place all by yourselves and rest a while.” (Mark 6:31)
Especially as women, the concept of resting can seem impossible in normal times. Yet, in multiple Gospel accounts, Jesus himself, when overwhelmed, took time away to rest. And Jesus invites us to do the same, as we see in Mark 6 above, and in Matthew 11:28-9: “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest…for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
These last two years have been heavy laden, isolating, and disorienting. Our normal routines have been upended, and we have been navigating uncertainty for so long, we may be feeling poured out; exhausted; drained. And we need rest.
Join retreat leader Natalie Perl Regan and the women of The Falls Church Saturday, March 12th, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm to come away and rest for the afternoon. We will take this time to gather as community, to rest in God’s great care for each of us, and to be renewed as we look toward the future for women’s ministry at the conclusion of the retreat. We will engage in spiritual self-care with guided prayer, individual reflection, and small group sharing. There will be additional fellowship outside after 5:00pm. All are welcome.
We will be meeting inside, following all Covid protocols as outlined here: https://www.thefallschurch.org/covid19response
