Artist Bio:
My paintings are created through intuitive responses while engaged with the work. The process is completely organic and spontaneous. What emerges on the canvas is an internal language that is highly emotional and personal yet at the same time universal. It speaks of places unseen, but at the same time comforting and familiar... like memories of a place we feel we have been before, but can't quite recall all the details of the experience.
My inspiration comes from both my life experiences and the colors and forms found in nature. Living in Providence, Rhode Island, I'm constantly surrounded by ever-changing colors and seasons which inspires me. While my life took a devastating turn when I received a call. Every parent's worst nightmare. My daughter was a victim of gun violence. Her life had been taken in 2012 by someone else. The devastating news sent me into complete shock. Grief and Depression left me without seeing color anymore. I went years in this state of grief Until one day, having the courage to want to be free from what I feel and find an escape from the grips of grief Expressionism Painting was that Freedom for me. I now have emerged from that Uncomfortable place in my life and find comfort and joy in creating Masterpieces from a Mother/Artist simply trying to Master Peace.
