Description

PEABODY, MA — A Peabody High School employee who apparently inadvertently showed explicit images from a personal computer to a classroom of students has been placed on administrative leave. Superintendent Josh Vadala said in a statement that the district is investigating reports from a class on Monday that when the employee plugged a personal computer into a classroom projector a series of images from an apparent Google Image search were displayed to the students. Vadala said the district set up meetings with students and parents and contacted the Peabody Police Department. Counseling services are available to any student affected by the incident. Vadala said the district will also review its policies around whether the use of personal devices — including computers — are appropriate for the classroom.
