BELMONT, CA — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a male driver who reportedly approached two teenage girls Monday afternoon and tried to convince them to get into his car, Belmont police said Monday evening.
The teenage girls told police that the driver approached them on Casa Bona Avenue, rolled down the passenger window and called for them to "get in." The girls immediately ran onto Semeria Avenue while the man drove south on Casa Bona Avenue, according to police.
The girls described the car as a black four-door vehicle, possibly an SUV, with black tinted windows. The steering wheel had a cover decorated with characters from the movie "The Nightmare Before Christmas," police said.
The driver was described as a white man in his 60s or 70s with short blond hair, wearing a green and yellow plaid shirt.
Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact Belmont police at 650-595-7400 or [email protected].
