BELMONT, CA — Police are asking for the public's help locating a gunman who they say fired shots at another man Wednesday afternoon in Belmont. The incident occurred at around 1 p.m. on the 700 block of Island Parkway, police said in a news release. The suspect is described as a 6-foot-1 black man who was wearing faded blue jeans and a tan hoodie. He drove off in an older model small silver car, possibly a Nissan Sentra, police said. The victim was last seen running away from the area, police said. It wasn't known if he was injured. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Belmont Police Department's tip line at (650) 598-3000.
