FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA — The Falls Township Police Department has announced that they will be participating in the annual National Drug Takeback Day on Saturday, April 30.
Residents of Falls Township will be able to safely dispose of expired and/or unused medications through the help of the police department. Those interested can bring their medications to the front parking lot of the police station on the day of the event.
The take-back will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will be rain or shine.
According to the event's official website, "9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused prescription stimulants, and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives in 2019."
The annual event was created to lessen the amount of drug addiction and overdose deaths as a result of having unused medications in a home.
