LA GRANGE, IL — A La Grange man was arrested on a charge of simple assault in an incident with police last week. Jacob Hochgraver, 30, was charged about 9 p.m. Feb. 4 in the 10 block of West Harris Avenue. According to a police report, Hochgraver was arrested after opening the front door of a squad car as an officer was trying to drive away from a previous call. In May 2021, Hochgraver was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct after he got into a fight and removed his pants, police said. Here is information from other recent La Grange police reports: Bria Lewis, 26, of Tulsa, was cited shortly before midnight Feb. 8 at Ogden Avenue and Dubois Boulevard on charges of no driver's license and speeding. A person at Corner Bakery, 39 N. La Grange Road, told police that $250 in cash and a debit card were stolen from the person's belongings while the person was in the restaurant's bathroom. The theft took place Tuesday.A back window of a car was broken Monday near Ogden and Waiola avenues. It was believed to have been done by a pedestrian. A socket wrench was found near broken glass. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and people charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
