ISO kid friendly English bulldog or other breed

Hello! I’m looking for a dog that my son can grow up with (he’s 2) so kid friendly is a must. I also have a newborn so potty trained is also preferred. Dog friendly so we can take him/her to the beach and on walks. Preferably aged 1+ unless puppy is potty trained Breeds we love: English bulldog, basset hound, beagle, poodle/poodle mixes, dachshund, any hypoallergenic like shih tzus - or sweet loving family dogs. No chihuahuas, pitbull‘s, large dogs. We recently tried to adopt a dog that said he was kid friendly, paid all this money to get our house set up and for him, when we brought him home he nearly attacked my son. We had to give him up with no $$ back. Therefore our rehoming fee is not going to outrageous but willing to pay a certain fee for the right fit. Let me know! I’m in SLO but also willing to drive 2-3 hours to meet. Pictures are appreciated!
