Description
Chinese History: 2,000 BCE - Present
Are you or is someone you know curious about China? Did your schooling not include much discussion of east Asia? Is it confusing to follow all the headlines?
If so, perhaps you'd be willing to consider my brief and fun course in Chinese History! Learn from someone with a master's degree from Tufts University and an undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University who has taught this course successfully in the past. I have studied US, European, and Chinese history; as well as philosophy, economics, and business. I wish to provide a well-rounded, easily understood, and exciting view of one the world's most enduring and impactful cultures.
The course will be eight sessions long, each session is two-hours in length. There is an option for a complimentary ninth "wrap-up" session to cover loose ends and discuss ideas together, for those who would like to come together one last time.
The total cost of the course is: $225 (about $14/hour, or $28/class session)
Please note, this span of history is immense, so the course is designed as an overview of key events, cultural attitudes, and political changes. Ideally, this course would serve as a jumping off point for your own future explorations of a rich and diverse culture!
Join us for a month of great chats and awesome tales from the far east; and leave with a fuller understanding of China and the world!
