We are a Northern Colorado based professional DJ company that has been making great events happen for our clients for over twenty years. We are currently looking for a highly dependable, outgoing, creative and professional DJ/MC for weddings and occasional private events - at a single location! You will need to have a serious love for music, people, planning and weddings! Prior DJ/MC experience is highly preferred, but not necessary. Paid training will be provided to ensure seamless integration with our philosophy and planning process from meetings to event execution and completion. We provide the sound equipment for your events. This is a part-time position with up to 5 possible events per month in “high season”. Your gigs may begin in June or July with hourly paid training from March through May. Compensation is $200 – $700 per event depending on event hours, optional event add-ons and experience. Average event pay is around $400.00 + tips for a highly experienced DJ. This position is employee based, not as an independent contractor. Must haves: • Personal punctuality and reliability • Professional appearance, demeanor, and a suit or two • Great communication skills • Comfortable speaking to large groups • Awesome organizational skills • General knowledge of popular music genres, artists and songs • Ability to work an event any day of the week, and have specific set meeting days • Be available to DJ if an emergency comes up at any time • Be 21+ years old • A valid drivers license • A reliable, newer vehicle & insurance (preferably SUV, mid/larger hatchback, or covered and lockable truck for moving gear. No tiny cars) • A problem free laptop (preferably a Mac), printer and reliable internet access at your residence • Ability to lift heavy gear • Strong desire to help others and a “can-do” attitude Like to have: • Extensive prior DJ/MC experience with weddings, though not necessary • Professional audio/video equipment knowledge and problem solving • Ability to beat match/mix tracks Things you will be doing: • Make the most important day of somebody’s life happen! • Meet with clients over phone/facetime/skype to review and help with song selections and event details in cloud based system • Selling and inputting optional add-ons (additional commission for you!) • Creating music playlists • Occasionally transporting gear from NoCo base to venue and back • Setting up and taking down heavy equipment • Collecting any balance owed at the event • Communicating with and helping other wedding vendors • Guiding participants throughout event • Making announcements and introducing participants as needed • Playing specified music selections, and making musical changes on the fly during open dancing (“reading the crowd”). • Any additional tasks as needed • Having fun!
