Description
My name is Terrill Scott and I'm a 100% disabled Veteran. I live and own my house in Camden, NJ. I am asking for your help to have my oil furnace replaced. I have been living without heat in my home for the past 2 years. I contacted and paid out of pocket $119 to 7Oil and $79 to McAllister Energy for quotes to fix or replace my oil furnace and each guy that came out told me that I would have to get my oil furnace replaced because it's very old and there's no parts for my particular oil heater q. So I called PSEG to have them convert my oil heat to gas heat and was denied because i don't have no return air duct in my basement. I applied to St Joseph Carpentry Society here in Camden, NJ and was denied funding because I don't have a child under 12 years old or an elderly person living with me. I applied for funding through the Camden County OEO Home Energy Program and was denied funding because I made $108 over their monthly gross ($3348) income for one person. I applied for the Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) grant from the VA and was denied funding because I didn't meet their qualifying service-connected disabilities. I also applied for the Special Home Adaptation (SHA) grant through the VA and was denied again, because I didn't meet their qualifying service-connected disabilities. I was quoted by both 7Oil and McAllister Energy and they both estimated around $8340 I would need to pay to have my oil heater replaced. Yes, I have been saving money from my VA pension check but it is not nearly enough money to get my hearter fixed nor replaced. Because of my severe PTSD and mood swing disorder, I cannot work. Right now I am living in survival mode. I'm using tactics that I learned in the Army on how to stay warm and keep fighting. I hate asking anyone for money or help, but i really need the help, but anything helps. If you know of any organizations that can help me, please forward that information to me. I'll even work for you so I can raise the money to get my heater fixed. Thank you. I'm raising $8,450
