GROSSE POINTE, MI — Fewer than 10 violent crimes were reported in Grosse Pointe in 2019, according to the FBI Crime in the United States reported released Monday.
According to the report, six violent crimes were reported to police in Grosse Pointe in 2019.
The FBI categorizes as crimes such assaults, murders, rapes and robberies.

Close behind Detroit was St. Louis, Missouri, Memphis, Tennessee, and Baltimore, Maryland.
The city had reported a total of 13,040 violent crimes.
Michigan as a whole saw 43,686 violent crimes reported in 2019. That number is a little over a 3 percent drop from 2018, when 45,176 violent crimes were reported.
In 2019, about 1.2 million violent crimes occurred nationwide, a decrease of 0.5 percent from the 2018 estimate, according to the data.
