a COMMUNITY CELEBRATION of Iconic Black LGBTQIA+ Community Activists, Organizers, Leaders, Entertainers and Writers.
POCAAN is launching a new program, Village Voices!
Village Voices will be a series of ongoing community-based conversations with the intent of engaging our BIPOC & LGBTQIA+ community members. This series will explore topics that deeply affect our communal well-being, health, and relationships.
At POCAAN, our mission is to foster the deep wealth of experience, knowledge, & resources within our diasporic, yet greatly resilient & intersectional community. We hope that through these ongoing engagements, community members will gain tools & skillsets, as well as cultivate relationships that enhance mind, body, & soul!
We invite you to two of our launching events:
On February 9, 2022, from 6-730pm, POCAAN is holding a community ZOOM call where community members will learn more about the vision of Village Voices. This is also an opportunity for community members to share topics and issues they would like to see brought forth in our ongoing forums.
And on February 19, 2022, Village Voices will be launching our first in-person community forum during the LGBTQIA+ BLACK HISTORY EVENT: 2022, a joint event held at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute in Seattle, WA. The Topic - Coming Home: Giving Voice to BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ Experiences. This event will be an open panel discussion from 3:30pm - 5:30pm.
We invite you to please come out, share, and learn with us!
