Reverend Tribble and the Deacons delighted audiences until the Reverend retired to Mexico never dreaming they would play together again…but WATCH OUT! They are back for one more rockin' show for BreastFest 2022! Playing together for the first time in over three years for this wonderful cause, they can’t wait. Be sure to catch this great show for a great cause. Saturday March 26 at Southern Brewing Company. Based in Athens, GA, Simple Life Band is made up of veteran musicians Deane Quinter, Jimmy Wooten and Greg Veale. One Athens music icon described the band as “the real deal.” Known for smokin’ renditions of classic rock, country, and blues covers, the band has begun to showcase original songs by Jimmy, whose writing abilities earned him a platinum record from Columbia Records. Their first self-titled CD of originals won approval from the public and fellow artists alike. Evident in every live performance is each member’s talent and love of music which always provide audiences with a memorable musical experience. The story of Bloodkin began when 8 year olds Daniel Hutchens and Eric Carter met in West Virginia. Their friendship was initially built on their mutual love of baseball, comic books and rock n roll but by high school, they found themselves spending much of their time building the foundation of Bloodkin in Eric’s garage. The duo relocated to Athens, Georgia and over the course of their career has accumulated a catalog of more than five hundred original songs with gripping guitar riffs summoning hard grit blues and raw poetic lyrics that speak to individual passions and universal plight. Their masterful songwriting has influenced Widespread Panic, whose John Bell raved, “Bloodkin has been one of our greatest influences. Danny and Eric’s music has a consistent blend of poetry, intestinal fortitude, and song-craftsmanship that I envy.” 2021 proved to be a life changing year for the band. In April of 2021 Bloodkin released Black Market Tango, their first studio album in 12 years. A masterful double album of “ uncompromising, literate, exhilarating rock n roll,” haled Glide Magazine. BMT’s release was followed by the passing of founding member, Daniel Hutchens, in May, 2021. The band has persevered through the hardships and is dedicated to continuing the Bloodkin legacy. With different people stepping in to support the music, “friends” is the name of the game. “Danny and I had started to think of this band like a baseball team. It’s a long ass season and not everyone can make every game, but there always seems to be someone to step in and step up. I know it sounds horribly cliche, but lots of folks have told me “this is what Danny would’ve wanted.” And they’re probably right.”- Bloodkin is Eric Carter, Tori Pater, Aaron Phillips, John Neff, David Nickel and Betsy Franck! The Welfare Liners came together from the eclectic Athens, GA music scene in 2010 and combined contemporary and traditional influences to create a brand of bluegrass that has earned praise from young and old. After releasing a self-titled, six-song EP on Ghostmeat Records in 2011, the band found themselves sharing the stage with the likes of The Del McCoury Band and Dawes. Slowly, original compositions began to make there way into sets previously dominated by standards from Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs and The Stanley Brothers. These original songs borrowed heavily from the tradition of brother harmony mastered by Jim & Jesse and The Louvin Brothers. 2012 brought us their debut album titled "High On A Hilltop". It includes 14 original compositions featuring Rob Keller (6 String Drag, The Drovers Old Time Medicine Show, Workhorses of the Entertainment/Recreational Industry) on vocals and bass fiddle, Wayne Wilson (Athens Grass, Cafeteria, The F Holes) on vocals and banjo, Russ Hallauer (Sunbrain, The Lures, founder of Ghostmeat Records) on mandolin, Mark Cunningham (The Burning Angels) on guitar and Adam Poulin (Betsy Frank, Dodd Ferrelle) on fiddle. The album also includes guest appearances by William Tonks (Bloodkin, Barbara Cue) on dobro. High On A Hilltop was recorded and mixed by Russ Hallauer at Ghostmeat Studio in Watkinsville, GA. It was mastered by Bright Eyes bassist/engineer Andy LeMaster at Chase Park Transduction in Athens, GA. The album cover design is by former Whiskeytown drummer Skillet Gilmore. The Band released a second full length album "Just Stars For Light" in 2015. With John Hallemeier and Ethan Jones on fiddle, the Georgia group incorporated a few non-traditional instruments and occasionally expanded into more rock-like song structures to create something that is at once familiar and innovative. After countless live shows for nearly a decade the band is currently in the studio working on its fourth release for Ghostmeat Records with the addition of John Evans (Border Hop, Moving Men) on guitar.
